If Your Lawyer Won’t Answer Your Questions I Will
If you retain the legal services of an accident lawyer in Fort Lauderdale, or anywhere in Florida, you have the right to call your attorney’s office if you have questions about your case. You will have questions as your case proceeds forward.
Quite often questions about your medical treatment, medical bills or loss of wages arise during the pendency of your case and your attorney and his or her staff must give you those answers. I have a 24 hour rule at my office where we endeavor to answer all questions by all clients within 24 hours but no later than 48 after an inquiry.
Unfortunately, and it reflects badly on the entire legal profession, attorneys I hear from my clients who have fired their lawyers and hired my firm, took them for granted, ignored them, and they basically felt unseen and felt like solely a case number.
While most of my colleagues that I know personally do not practice law in that unprofessional manner, a few bad apples make us all appear uncaring and unprofessional. My dear departed mother taught me that age old truism “do into others as you’d have them do onto you.” At the Law Offices of David Fuchs, my Fort Lauderdale car accident and injury law firm, we try, really try, as a mission statement to treat clients the way we would expect to be treated if we were clients of a firm- with caring, respect, and communication.
I have been practicing law for almost 36 years and my firm stands ready to answer any questions you might have to the best of our abilities if your current lawyer can not or will not. You have the right to expect your current attorney to return your phone calls. If they have not, please feel free to call my office at 954.568.3636. My accident and injury law office is conveniently located in downtown Fort Lauderdale. I will personally speak with you, answer your questions and give you a case evaluation. You then have the right to fire your lawyer and retain my firm. Your prior lawyer by law, however, does have the right to assert a lien for his or her time but they must prove it to my satisfaction. Absent rare circumstances, liens are paid out of your new attorneys contingency fee arrangement with you and it shouldn’t reduce your net settlement.
Fort Lauderdale car accident lawyers and all lawyers in the profession are licensed to zealously represent you and your legal rights within the bounds of the law. We are ethically obligated to counsel you about the possibilities of success and to counsel you as your accident case progresses. At my firm, the Law offices of David Fuchs, accident and injury law firm, we commit to answering your questions, fighting to vindicate your injury claim and getting you the compensation that you deserve and that you remain a client of my firm well beyond the settlement of your Fort Lauderdale accident case.
